Main Room at CDR Dedicated

Thursday, January 12, 2012

Friends, family as well as representatives from the School of Architecture, Design & Planning and KU Endowment were present Saturday morning, Dec. 10 for dedication of the “Tom Plimpton Innovation Studio.” A generous donation to the CDR was given to name the main room at the CDR in honor of Mr. Plimpton’s retirement from PACCAR (a Seattle based multinational technology company, manufactures premium commercial vehicles sold around the world under the Kenworth, Peterbilt and DAF nameplates). Mr. Mark Pigott, Chairman and CEO of PACCAR,  honored Mr. Plimpton for his many years of service and steering the company by designating the room to be named. On  Saturday morning, Mr. Plimpton and his wife Kathy, hosted and event to officially dedicate the room which now bears a plaque, “Tom Plimpton Innovation Studio.” It was a wonderful morning and a great event that also provided a tour of the CDR campus for his guest. We are pleased that Mr. Pigott selected the CDR and to have a person such as Mr. Plimpton be named.
